Associated International Laboratory (LIA) NaBi

  "NaBi - NanoBio laboratory" is the result of a Franco-Israeli partnership in the emerging field of "Nano-Bio Sciences" and associated applications. Created in 2008, as a result of the initiative of the professors Joseph Zyss (France) and Ron Naaman (Israël), for an initial period of four years, NaBi links the Weizmann Institute and its associated departments of Physical Chemistry, Materials Interface and the Physics of Complex systems with the CNRS represented by three entities, respectively, the d'Alembert Institute and its four constituent UMR laboratories (LBPA, LPQM, PPSM and SATIE); the Laboratories of Complex Systems and Chemistry of the Ecole Normale Superieure (Paris) and the Fresnel Institute in Marseille (University Paul Cézanne).

The principal projects defined within NaBi are centred on applications of photonics to cell imagery and concern specifically the use of novel configurations of light matter interactions in applications aimed at novel developments in nanosciences, advanced instrumentation, biomedical imagery and new biosensors.

The principal scientific activities of NaNi are may be summarised in four main themes:
Novel innovations in microscopy and biological imagery
Photo-inducible biological processes
Biosensors and biochips

Erasmus Mundus European Master : « Molecular nano- and bio-photonics for telecommunications and biotechnologies » (MONABIPHOT)

The previous module is the French contribution of   Master européen Erasmus Mundus : « Molecular nano- and bio-photonics for telecommunications and biotechnologies » (MONABIPHOT) oopen since the return of 2006-2007. Education is provided by several European academix institutions (ENS de Cachan, Université Complutense (Madrid, Espagne), Université de Wroclaw et Polytechnic Institute of Wroclaw (Pologne)) grouped in a consortium with ENS Cachan as coordinator (Isabelle Ledoux - LPQM). This master welcomes European students from partners colleges, but mainly students from third countries, thanks to a strong support from the European Union in the form of scholarships over two years .It is for students who intend to industrial or academic careers in the field of photonics, by a strong multidisciplinary approach involving physics, chemistry, biology and information technology.

This master is entirely based on d'Alembert Institute, which provides the skills imparted in Cachan and childcare facilities for research internships at the end of the cursus.
